About the Role:

The Petrofac team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our offshore engineering team. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out engineering surveys, providing structural design sketches, and reviewing lift plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out engineering surveys of structural elements to identify replacement or repair needs
  • Provide engineering sketches for reinforcement, replacement, or modification of steelwork in accordance with industry standards
  • Review and approve lift plans to ensure safe and efficient execution
  • Conduct structural checks of structures for lifting, scaffolding, or laydown proposals
  • Report progress to barge supervisors and participate in weekly progress meetings
  • Liaise with plant inspectors to review inspection findings and conduct integrity checks
  • Coordinate with material coordinators to order required supplies for offshore fabrication
  • Raise site queries to ensure visibility of scope growth among team members
  • Provide support to other disciplines, including mechanical, piping, rigging, E&I, etc.
  • Issue signed-off sketches and drawings to Shell DCC
  • Check and approve calculations
  • Ensure scopes are executed offshore in accordance with design drawings
  • Provide technical expertise for structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure
  • Interface with other disciplines, clients, and third parties on emerging issues
  • Comply with company engineering procedures, industry, international, and client codes and standards
  • Ensure all work complies with Contract Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures

  • Survey reports
  • Structural design calculations
  • Structural design sketches
  • Input to project execution plans
  • Construction workpack input
  • Presentations and sketches to assist in scope communications

Requirements:

  • Brownfield project experience is desirable
  • Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry is preferable but not essential
  • Suitable design experience within other engineering industries will be considered where appropriate
