Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team on a full-time hybrid basis in the Great Yarmouth area. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural engineering design and consultancy, with a strong understanding of complex structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare structural analysis and design calculations and reports for complex structures.
  2. Conduct structural condition surveys, generate reports, and develop remedial work schemes.
  3. Project manage own projects, and manage more junior staff to meet project requirements from initial client enquiry and proposal preparation stage through to preliminary design, detailed design, drawing and specification preparation, delivery and project completion.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000, depending on experience, as well as hybrid working, performance bonuses, and potential for career advancement to Associate and Director with share options. We offer business mileage paid, 30 days holiday + bank holidays, and a pension scheme.

Requirements:
  1. Professional member of the ICE or IStructE to CEng or IEng level.
  2. 3 – 5 years of structural engineering design and consultancy experience.
  3. Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.
  4. Offshore structural design experience but not essential.
  5. Roads and drainage design experience would be advantageous.
  6. Ability to work well as a part of a wider team, as well as, individually.
  7. Passionate about their work and the desire to build a long-term career.
  8. A full UK driving licence with access to own transport.
