We're seeking a highly skilled Cell Line Development Lead to join our team at Hoxton Farms.
As a key member of our Cell Line Development team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of automated workflows for mammalian stem cell engineering. Your expertise in molecular biology, cell line engineering tools, and genetic construct design will be crucial in generating and improving cell lines that are the foundation of our process for making cultivated fat at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of biologists and engineers to develop and optimize cell line development workflows
- Designing and implementing genome editing strategies using CRISPR/Cas9 and related technologies
- Optimizing transfections and transductions to improve cell line efficiency
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate cell line development into our R&D and manufacturing process
- Developing and maintaining high-throughput screening protocols using image-based techniques and flow cytometry
Requirements:
- PhD in molecular biology, synthetic biology, mammalian stem cell biology, or a related discipline
- At least two years' experience working in mammalian cell line development and genome engineering, preferably in a commercial setting
- Excellent knowledge of molecular biology, cell line engineering tools, and genetic construct design
- Proficiency in genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 and related technologies
- Experience optimizing transfections and transductions
- Proven ability in managing projects and coordinating workflows involving cell line development and molecular biology
