Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our cancer services team as a Lymphoma Clinical Nurse Specialist at Royal Marsden Hospital Haemato-Oncology Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of a seamless service for patients and their families.

The successful candidate will use clinical expertise, leadership, and management skills to ensure the coordination of care for patients with a Haemato-oncology malignancy. In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, you will develop a model of care providing support, assessment, and education for this group of patients. As a Registered Nurse with the NMC, you will have substantial experience in a cancer nursing role and be able to lead and provide advanced nursing care to patients with lymphoma.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and high-quality cancer nursing service to the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Key responsibilities include leading and providing advanced nursing care to patients with lymphoma, enhancing the patient experience of cancer treatment, ensuring continuity of care, and influencing patient pathways. You will assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to a patient and be conversant with the NMC code of conduct in relation to this.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of cancer treatments and cancer pathways. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge of NICE guidance and government targets relating to cancer specialty and be able to manage projects and meet deadlines effectively. A strong ability to organise and manage time efficiently is essential for this position.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications
  • First level registration with the NMC
  • Post-registration qualification in oncology relevant to the specialty
  • First degree in a health-related subject (or equivalent)
  • Higher degree in a health-related subject (or undertaking within a year of being in post)
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable
  • Postgraduate diploma or relevant MSc
Experience

Essential
  • Experience in providing clinical services to patients with cancer in an acute setting
  • Teaching experience
  • Research experience
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
  • Broad understanding of cancer treatments and cancer pathways

Salary

This role offers a salary of approximately £43,041 - £56,947 per annum, depending on experience.
