Job Title: Roofing and Cladding Designer

GVR Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Roofing and Cladding Designer to join our team. As a leading subcontractor in fully supported hard metal roofing, facades, cladding systems, and flat roofing, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality projects that exceed our clients' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Produce construction drawings and designs on time, meeting the highest quality standards.
  • Design Proposals: Develop and implement design proposals, ensuring they meet client expectations and stay within budget constraints.
  • Client Communication: Present proposals for approval to clients, ensuring clear communication of design concepts.
  • Design Oversight: Oversee the design process, utilizing technical expertise to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of design and development, adhering to ISO9001 standards.
  • Compliance: Coordinate the submission of information to satisfy building control compliance.
  • Design Coordination: Lead the coordination and production of design data, bid deliverables, reports, and documentation essential to the project and contractual requirements.
  • Design Review: Review and understand architectural design intent documentation to develop acceptable construction solutions.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate subcontractor drawings from various trades to ensure a cohesive overall design.
  • Product Compliance: Review product technical data to ensure product compliance and incorporate designs.
  • Design Support: Assist with design schedules and provide design and technical support to all departments throughout the design and construction phase.
  • Design Meetings: Attend design team meetings and lead the process with consultants and subcontract designers.
  • Site Reports: Prepare full site reports from site surveys on progress, quality, and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in hard metal roofing and cladding design.
  • Driving License: Full driving license.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to work to tight deadlines and provide high levels of customer care.
  • Education: Construction/design-related further education advantageous.
  • Qualifications: Construction/design-related HNC/HND/Degree advantageous.
  • Communication: Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Quality Assurance: Strong track record of ensuring quality design information is provided in accordance with project requirements.
  • Software Skills: High-level competency with AutoCAD and BIM.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of approved document part B and NHBC conditions essential.
  • Professional Membership: Membership of a professional body is preferable but not essential.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail.
  • Construction Knowledge: Good grasp of core construction ideas and principles.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate construction concepts, both visually and verbally, as required.
  • Document Management: Familiarity with online document portals an advantage.
