Strategic Operations Manager

About This Role
The Planning Manager will play a critical part in the Operations Leadership Team at Ametek. With a strong background in manufacturing practices and all planning processes, the ideal candidate will lead a cross-functional team responsible for meeting Ametek's financial and customer expectations.
Main Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the next 6-month and 6-weekly sales plan with regular reviews, incorporating Purchasing, Customer Services, and Operations input.
• Implement and manage a Master Production Schedule where necessary.
• Support all SIOP requirements, collaborating with the extended Senior Leadership Team to achieve Key Business Sales targets while considering cumulative lead times and limitations.
• Level-load the executable Sales plan within the MRP system with Customer Services.
• Ensure daily planning activities align with the business's service levels, with KPI-led metrics for planners and schedulers.
• Focus on On-Time Delivery (OTD) with Operations to drive customer OTD improvements.
• Develop and act as the MRP 'super user' for the planning department.
• Run and develop reports to ensure MRP parameters comply with policy.
• Develop, mentor, and coach all members of the Planning Team.
• Support ERP projects to drive business optimization.
Professional Knowledge and Experience
1. Proven ability to lead and execute SIOP.
2. Full understanding of MRP parameters and functionality.
3. Demonstrates solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
4. Proven ability to solve practical problems and handle various changing situations under pressure.
5. High competency level in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum).
6. Experienced in work order control.
7. A proven understanding of traceability.
8. Representing the section at internal meetings and presenting planning performance achievements.
9. Continuous development of self.
10. Ability to lead projects and negotiate with cross-functional and cross-market teams.
11. Good business writing skills and ability to use networks to influence business activity and convince others.
12. Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship-building skills.
13. Ability to drive results and obtain information from a team.
14. A proven team player with creative problem-solving skills.
15. Ability to multitask, proactive with good presentation skills and self-initiative.
