Job Summary:

The Strategic Operations Manager will play a critical role in driving Ametek's financial and customer expectations. This position requires a strong background in manufacturing practices, all planning processes, MRP control, and demand/inventory management.

Main Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a 6-month and 6-week sales plan based on input from purchasing, customer services, and operations teams.

Implement and manage a master production schedule where required.

Support SIOP requirements and work closely with the senior leadership team to achieve key business sales targets.

Collaborate with customer services to level load the executable sales plan within the MRP system.

Ensure daily planning activities are executed within the required service levels, with KPI-led metrics for planners/schedulers.

Focus on on-time delivery (OTD) with operations to drive customer OTD improvements.

Develop and act as an MRP 'super user' for the planning department.

Run and develop reports to ensure MRP parameters are within policy.

Develop, mentor, and coach all members of the planning team.

Support ERP projects to drive business optimization.

Professional Requirements:

1. Proven ability to lead and execute SIOP.

2. Full understanding of MRP parameters and functionality.

3. Demonstrates solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.

4. Proven ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under pressure.

5. High competency level in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum).

6. Experienced in works order control.

7. A proven understanding of traceability.

8. Represent the section at internal meetings and present planning performance achievements.

9. Continuous development of self.

10. Ability to lead projects and negotiate with cross-functional and cross-market teams.

11. Good business writing skills and ability to use networks to influence business activity and convince others.

12. Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship-building skills.

13. Ability to drive results and obtain information from a team.

14. A proven team player with creative problem-solving skills.

15. Ability to multitask, proactive with good presentation skills and self-initiative.
