About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Critical Network Planner to join our team at CityFibre. As a key member of our network planning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and standards of our initial infrastructure planning strategy for BDUK lots.

As a Subject Matter Expert in design outputs, you will work closely with GIS and systems teams to refine processes and data quality, maximising design output and supporting the overall design of each BDUK Lot.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to a team of Critical Network Planners, ensuring best practice and consistency across regions to maintain the integrity of the Critical Network.
  • Engage with 3rd Design Partners and Design coordination team to maintain spine design schedules in-line with agreed programmes and contractual commitments for nominated lots.
  • Support the growth and flexibility of our National and Local Network to enable suitable passive capacity as part of our spine network.
Requirements
  • Practical experience of designing solutions to challenges faced in rural deployment areas.
  • Demonstrable GIS experience, particularly including use of QGIS, with a solid understanding of PIA practices and Civils avoidance techniques.
  • Strong understanding of BDUK contractual scope and technical obligations, particularly passive access requirements.
  • Competent in MS Office and planning software, such as Smallworld, Comsof, CFDC, and BlueBeam.
