We are seeking a skilled and motivated Signalling Maintenance Technician to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and motivate a team of technicians to deliver safe and efficient work delivery.
- Develop and implement safe systems of work, and challenge any potential risks to safety.
- Work with equipment including signals, level crossings, and points systems, and develop technical skills across a range of manual, electrical, and digital equipment.
- Collaborate with team leaders and operatives to ensure effective communication and delivery of work.
- Contribute to the development of the team's technical skills and competencies, and stay up-to-date with new standards, procedures, and instructions.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
- Technical skills, with knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in the discipline of signalling and telecoms.
- Safety-focused, with a commitment to safe working practices and the ability to challenge any potential risks to safety.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to find safe and effective solutions.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills and competencies.
- Relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2 linked to the discipline of signalling and telecoms, or equivalent level of relevant experience.
- Shifts will involve a changing pattern, including days, nights, and weekends.
- Outdoor working will be required, in all weather conditions.
- Safe working practices will be essential, with regular drug and alcohol testing, medical assessments, and BPSS pre-employment checks.
- A driving licence (category B) will be required to drive Network Rail vehicles.
- Commute times will be within a 60-minute radius of the location.
