Senior Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at a school in Dorset. As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in their learning and personal development, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver engaging and interactive learning activities that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Build positive relationships with students, creating a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes their well-being and academic success.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to inform teaching practices and promote student growth.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and student welfare are maintained at all times, adhering to school policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or 4 and above).
  • Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviors and promoting an inclusive learning environment, with a focus on student well-being and academic success.
