SEN Primary Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in primary schools. As a market-leading education recruitment agency, Teaching Personnel is committed to providing high-quality support to children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or group assistance to children with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring children are engaged and making progress.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, offering emotional and academic support.
  • Adapt resources and teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor progress and implement strategies.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in an SEN or educational setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential) or a passion for working with SEN children.
