Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Ringwood, Dorset. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, including Autism, to achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our expert teaching staff to provide personalized support to students in the classroom and during outdoor activities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing emotional support and ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • Helping students achieve their goals outlined in their Education and Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
  • Implementing positive behaviour management techniques tailored to individual needs.
  • Maintaining detailed records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety matters.
  • Encouraging teamwork and fostering positive social interactions among students.

  • Be passionate about working with young people and building trust-based relationships.
  • Show patience and skill in managing challenging behaviours.

  • Possess basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.
