Job Title: Family Support Worker - Disability Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team at Disability North. As a Family Support Worker, you will work closely with a family to provide support and care for their son, who has autistic spectrum disorder.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the son, assisting him with daily activities and promoting his independence.
  • Support the family in their caring role, providing guidance and advice as needed.
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans to meet the son's needs and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as therapists and healthcare providers, to ensure a comprehensive support network.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with autism and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid DBS check and references.
