Family Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team at Disability North. The successful candidate will work closely with a family to provide support and care for their eldest son, who has autistic spectrum disorder.
The role will involve working alongside the family to develop and implement a support plan that meets the individual needs of their son. This will include providing emotional support, helping with daily tasks, and engaging in activities that promote social and emotional development.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism and a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with this condition. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and care for the family's eldest son
- Help with daily tasks and activities that promote social and emotional development
- Work closely with the family to develop and implement a support plan
- Engage in activities that promote social and emotional development
Requirements
- Experience working with children with autism
- Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with autism
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
