About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Equipment Specialist to join our team in Edinburgh. As an integral part of our operations, you will be responsible for developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Continuously improve manufacturing equipment processes by challenging current methods and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and timescales.
  2. Analyze uptime and utilization data to optimize Overall Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  3. Maintain and calibrate manufacturing equipment, conducting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) as scheduled.
  4. Interface with Calibration Services providers to support calibration and repair requirements of relevant manufacturing and test equipment and tooling.
  5. Assist in maintaining spare parts for maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities.
  6. Resolve routine manufacturing equipment issues and constraints on the shop floor, reacting efficiently to escalations from manufacturing teams.
  7. Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing EPA/ESD arrangements to ensure successful ESD processes are in place.
  8. Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing equipment, including maintenance schedules and process checklists.
  9. Proactively review and oversee obsolescence of critical spares.
  10. Support the maintenance of manufacturing support facilities and services to ensure successful manufacture/test of products.
  11. Assist and support Manufacturing Engineering preparation of Manufacturing Maturity Reviews.
  12. Participate in Equipment Criticality Assessments/Risk Assessment processes.
  13. Support internal and external audits of Manufacturing, Test Equipment, and Calibration processes.
  14. May supervise an Industrial Placement or Summer Student.
Requirements
  • Possess good practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • Demonstrate strong data analysis skills.
  • Show proven achievement of tasks within the equipment engineering discipline.
  • Awareness of related engineering disciplines and interaction levels required within an IPT.
  • Experience with measurement techniques and use of equipment (e.g., temperature, humidity, dew point, pressure, vacuum, airborne particles, vibration) relevant to manufacturing facilities.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, facilities, and supporting services, including Clean Rooms, Special to Type Test Rooms, Environmental Facilities & Chambers.
