About the Role
We are seeking a skilled driver to join our Passenger Fleet Team at Leicestershire County Council. As a driver, you will be responsible for transporting vulnerable adults and children with special educational needs to their destinations, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Transporting passengers to their destinations, adhering to relevant policies, legislation, and procedures.
- Ensuring the personal wellbeing and safe travel of passengers, including those with physical and/or learning difficulties.
- Operating a range of vehicles, including minibuses, and maintaining a high level of driving standards.
- Providing excellent customer service and interacting with passengers, colleagues, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation, including passenger manifests and vehicle logs.
Requirements
- Full driving license with minibus entitlement (category D1 or D).
- Experience in driving and transporting individuals or groups of people.
- Ability to work face-to-face with the public, providing customer care and quality services.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to different situations and personalities.
- Basic numeracy skills to complete worksheets and maintain records.
Working Arrangements
We offer a range of working arrangements, including permanent and casual positions, to suit your needs and preferences. Our drivers work on a split-shift basis, with opportunities for additional hours when available.
