Senior Electrical Engineering Professor

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly accomplished academic to join our Department of Engineering as a Professor in Electrical Engineering. The successful candidate will have a strong research profile, with expertise in experimental power electronics, machines, and drives. A particular focus on renewable energy, space, aerospace, power distribution, and reliability of novel electrical machines is desirable.

The role involves research-led teaching in engineering, contributing to the development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will work closely with colleagues across the department to deliver high-quality education and research activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in electrical engineering, focusing on experimental power electronics, machines, and drives
  • Teach and develop research-led courses in engineering, including undergraduate and postgraduate programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives and contribute to the delivery of high-quality education and research activities
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong research background, with a proven track record of publication and funding. Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable, and you should be able to provide evidence of your ability to become professionally qualified if not already.

You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Salary:

Grade 10 - Negotiable, subject to experience (£73,407 - £91,240 per annum)
