Job Description and Requirements

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Professor to join our Department of Engineering at Durham University. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting experimental research in power electronics, machines, and drives, with a focus on renewable energy, space, aerospace, power distribution, and reliability of novel electrical machines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-impact research in experimental power electronics, machines, and drives.
  • Lead and develop successful research projects and proposals.
  • Teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Provide leadership in national and international research groups.
Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate research excellence in the field of Power Electronics, Machines, and Drives, with the ability to teach to an exceptional standard and engage in university services and citizenship.

  • Qualifications: PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
  • Research Outputs: evidence of internationally excellent research outputs.
  • Research Leadership: leadership of national/international research groups.
  • PhD Supervision: significant contribution to PhD programmes.
Estimated Salary

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
