Deputy Ward Manager for Personality Disorder Service

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Deputy Surgical Ward Manager to join its innovative Springbank Ward at Fulbourn Hospital in Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the role of named nurses, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care within agreed parameters.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support nursing staff in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the Matron to set and maintain clinical standards, adhering to local and national priorities.
- Participate in rotational shifts, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Cultivate therapeutic relationships with patients, implementing evidence-based interventions while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping, adhering to Trust policies and NMC guidelines.
Requirements:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong background in mental health nursing. Key requirements include:
- RNMH or equivalent registration.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Mentor qualification or equivalent.
- Experience in inpatient services, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Basic training in the Mental Capacity Act.
- Experience in providing mentorship, supervising staff, and dealing with complex mental health needs.
