The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Psychologist to join our dynamic department, contributing to the delivery of teaching and research at the heart of our institution. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students, fostering their growth into critical-thinking professionals.

As a Clinical Teaching Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing a range of modules across our undergraduate and postgraduate programs, utilizing innovative approaches and technologies to create a vibrant learning environment. Your expertise in mental health and clinical/counselling psychology will be essential in contributing to the development of our students' skills and knowledge.

As a Mental Health Educator, you will have the opportunity to supervise student projects and undertake your own research, contributing to the research environment of the Department. You will work collaboratively with talented colleagues, benefiting from membership of one of our Departmental Research Groups.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual who holds or has submitted their PhD/doctorate in the field of psychology, with expertise in mental health. If you haven't already achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, we will support you in achieving this before the end of your probation period.

As a Teaching and Research Professional, you will be driven by a passion for delivering exceptional teaching and support to our students. You will use your experience of working in Psychology to promote integrated professional practice, imparting practical knowledge to students that they will take with them in their future careers.

Constantly seeking to improve, you will scrutinise your own work, build internal and external networks, and work collaboratively to enhance the faculty's reputation in higher education and the wider local community and beyond.
