Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our Freight Forwarding Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening our Finance & Controlling team by supporting with our Ireland Freight Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting unpaid bill account balances
  • Documenting daily collections activity
  • Analysing accounts to determine risk
  • Creating and maintaining credit history files
  • Reviewing new customers and assessing credit terms and monthly credit limits
  • Analysing and assessing the creditworthiness of accounts and clients using external credit risk management tools and reports
  • Researching accounts disputes and billing discrepancies
  • Performing account and payment reconciliations
  • Responding to credit inquiries from external and internal clients
  • Identifying bad debt or financial exposure
  • Liaising with customers ensuring payments received on a timely basis
  • Liaising with local Operations & our shared service centre to solve customer queries
  • Obtaining and reviewing remits for allocations of customer receipts
  • Producing weekly customer aging reports and presenting to management

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an operationally focused Credit Control role
  • Excellent communication skills and a track record in building relationships
