About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced HLTA to provide essential support to a small group of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a dedicated member of our team, you will collaborate with class teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead small-group learning sessions tailored to the needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Collaborate with class teachers to plan and implement effective support strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
  • Provide academic and emotional support to help pupils reach their full potential.
  • Step in to cover lessons when needed, ensuring continuity in teaching.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as an HLTA, particularly working with pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of the UK curriculum and SEN settings.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and build relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Confidence in leading classroom activities and supporting teaching staff.
