Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to lead the delivery of evidence-based talking therapies in HMP Northumberland.
As a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, you will provide high-quality support and interventions to individuals with mental health problems, ensuring they receive the necessary care and guidance to manage their recovery.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a supervisory role and be qualified as a PWP, holding a postgraduate qualification in Psychological Therapies (IAPT) and PWP accreditation. They should also possess significant knowledge of assessment procedures, screening, referral, record-keeping, and evidence-based brief psychological interventions.
This role involves working collaboratively with other disciplines and maintaining links with statutory and non-statutory agencies to ensure continuity of care upon release from prison.
You will be responsible for making decisions on suitability of new referrals, assessing and supporting individuals with mental health problems, providing Low Intensity interventions, and implementing a range of evidence-based interventions using a self-management model of mental health care.
A successful applicant will be willing to learn, adapt, and evolve to meet service demands and be experienced in offering and delivering the full range of evidence-based IAPT low intensity interventions at Step 2.
This position requires a DBS Enhanced with Adults Barred check, and applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence with access to their own vehicle for travel between sites or locations.
