Key Responsibilities- Lead Elective Recovery and Clinical Prioritisation: Develop and implement strategies to improve elective recovery and clinical prioritisation, ensuring that we meet national access targets and deliver high-quality patient care.
- Manage Pathway Coordination Team: Oversee the Pathway Coordination Team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support elective recovery and clinical prioritisation.
- Develop Assurance Framework: Establish an assurance framework to demonstrate the impact of validation activities, data quality management, and training on elective recovery and clinical prioritisation.
- Build Relationships: Develop strong relationships with operational divisions, corporate support teams, specialties, and departmental managers to communicate data quality issues and develop remedial actions.
- Elective Access Expert: Function as an elective access expert, understanding and investigating changes to the PTL and activity, and developing plans for recovery and improvement in elective performance.
- Project Work: Undertake project work as directed, overseeing elective access improvement and validation functions, and providing information for and contributing to the Elective Access Assurance process.
- Team Management: Lead, provide information and appropriate challenge at the weekly PTL recovery progress meetings, and maintain a skilled team who can provide specialist RTT skills and knowledge to support delivery of RTT performance within the Trust.
- Performance Management: Analyse complex performance data, make informed judgments, and present actionable options to support the Performance Team in ensuring that effective and efficient structures are in place to ensure that all standards of patient care are met and associated risk and governance matters are managed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the BI team to understand elective data and the impact these have on reported and actual performance, and support the validation and review of data for regular and ad-hoc performance reports.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement reports and processes to help management of elective performance, and support the development and implementation of key performance standards for elective care ensuring that these comply with national policies.
- Representation: Represent the Trust at contract, planning, and performance review meetings as required, and lead, support, or advise internal performance working groups within the Trust as required.
- Qualifications and Training: Educated to a Master's degree or equivalent relevant postgraduate professional qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
- Experience: Extensive experience of managing operational NHS services within an acute setting, significant experience of performance management, and experience of managing organisation-wide projects across a large, complex organisation.
- Skills and Knowledge: Detailed and expert knowledge of NHS elective access standards and all related national rule sets, strong knowledge of NHS trust performance management frameworks and methodologies for reporting performance, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Access.
