Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Probation Services Officer to join our team in the Ministry of Justice. As a Probation Services Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals on probation, helping them to manage their risk and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage the risk posed by individuals on probation to protect victims of crime and the general public.
  • Supervise and manage the risk of individuals on probation subject to community sentences, during and after custodial sentences.
  • Work with other agencies and groups to prevent crime and meet the needs of victims and individuals on probation.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with a diverse range of people who have experienced social/personal difficulties.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with individuals on probation, professionals, courts, and other public fora.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity good practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management/risk assessment as pertaining to offenders and the impact on victims of crime.
