Job Description

We are seeking a skilled NEC Supervisor to work on a major highways project in the Cambridge area. The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hour weeks, Monday to Friday, on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake the duties of Supervisor as stated in the Contract (NEC 4 ECC)
  • Acknowledge and raise queries regarding constructability in terms of safety and quality
  • Review Inspection and Test Plans to agree witnessing requirements
  • Witness on-site testing and commissioning, keeping appropriate records of results
  • Identify and notify any Defects in accordance with the Contract
  • Verify the standards of work and materials supplied by the contractor as specified in the Contract
  • Monitor the progress of works, providing advice to the Client Project Manager on any risks and issues
  • Submit reports on a weekly basis to the Client Project Manager, advising on progress and status of construction related safety, quality and completion issues
  • Maintain appropriate records of site inspections, tests and audits
  • Attend meetings and inspections as required

Requirements:

  • Nec4 ECC Supervisor Accreditation
  • Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or related disciplines
  • Experience of designing and constructing highway infrastructure projects
  • Good writing, client-facing and communication skills
  • Diligent, proactive and thorough approach to detail
  • Collaborative and practical approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge of Design Manual Road and Bridges and Specification for Highway Works
  • Working knowledge of the NEC Contract
