Job Description

This Senior Occupational Therapist role is an exciting opportunity to work with a modern mental health treatment unit. The unit features various facilities, including secure gardens, a gym, patient practice kitchens, sensory areas, and art rooms.

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing bespoke treatment packages across three wards for patients with complex mental health needs. The unit offers a modern environment promoting independence and offering opportunities for personal growth.

We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team, working closely with therapy assistants and the multi-disciplinary team. Key responsibilities include delivering occupational, therapeutic, and recreational activities and interventions on the wards, in the hospital grounds, and in the community.

The ideal candidate will have good leadership and communication skills, providing a high-quality service that meets individual patients' needs. As part of the therapy team, you will manage members, oversee service provision, and provide supervision to junior staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Reducing restrictive interventions
  • Clinical note-taking
  • Planning and time management
  • Engagement in department meetings and supervision

Qualifications required include a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and registration with the HCPC. Experience working in healthcare settings and/or with clients with mental health diagnoses or challenging behaviors is desirable. Sensory Integration Training would also be beneficial.
