This is a unique opportunity to work on a Monday-Friday Early/Late shift rotation, conducting thorough vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs on commercial vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all required works are completed efficiently and effectively, while maintaining a safe working environment.
Salary and BenefitsThe annual salary for this position is approximately £52,737, with overtime and annual bonuses potentially increasing the total remuneration to £55,000-£60,000 per year. In addition, employees can enjoy an extra day's holiday in lieu for working a Bank holiday (optional).
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify works needed, ensuring accurate diagnoses and efficient repairs.
- Complete all required works identified in the initial inspection, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Ensure pre-planned maintenance is undertaken in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
- Undertake MOT inspections and preparations, adhering to strict regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain a recording monitoring system to comply with legal and company requirements, ensuring seamless reporting and compliance.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure site Health & Safety standards comply with Company Policy, fostering a culture of excellence and responsibility.
- Completed HGV Technician apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Hold City & Guilds/NVQ Level Three qualifications or equivalent.
- Own tools and equipment necessary for the role.
- Full UK driving license, with Class 1 license beneficial but not essential.
The rotating Early/Late shift schedule allows for flexibility and work-life balance, with basic hourly rates starting at £20.65. Overtime rates apply from Monday-Saturday (£30.97/hour) and Sunday/Bank holidays (£41.30/hour), providing additional income opportunities.
