Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of children and families, delivering assessments, planning, and interventions to promote their welfare. This will involve conducting thorough assessments, developing effective welfare plans, and collaborating with statutory agencies, voluntary organizations, and family members to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs and develop tailored welfare plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, police officers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure effective support for children and families.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, carers, and community leaders, to build trust and promote engagement.
- Attend court as required, preparing high-quality reports and providing expert testimony.
- Maintain accurate, timely records in line with organizational systems and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will require a degree in Social Work or a related field, registration with the Social Work England (SWE) register, and relevant experience working with children and families. A completed ASYE programme and knowledge of systemic models such as Signs of Safety are also highly desirable.
Skills and Knowledge:
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds. You should also possess excellent assessment and report-writing skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments. Knowledge of child protection legislation, frameworks, and theories, including attachment theory, is essential. Computer literacy and the ability to use electronic recording systems are also required.
