Trauma Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to a student facing challenges with school integration due to difficulties at home.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to implement tailored learning strategies that cater to the student's unique needs, promoting a sense of safety and belonging in the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one support to the student, assisting with daily school activities and promoting emotional regulation and coping strategies.
- Foster positive relationships with the student, encouraging trust and open communication, and collaborating with teaching staff to develop effective learning strategies.
- Monitor and track the student's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents, and contributing to a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- A good understanding of the behaviors exhibited by children with trauma, including emotional and social challenges.
- Empathy, patience, and a resilient approach to working with children facing difficulties, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in a support role within an educational setting is preferred, with a commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in the school environment.
