About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Physician with a special interest in Stroke Medicine to join our dynamic team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

As a Consultant Physician in Stroke Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with acute stroke and transient ischaemic attack, as well as contributing to the development of our stroke services. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes and provide education and training to junior staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in stroke medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also have a passion for teaching and training, with experience in undergraduate and postgraduate education.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients with acute stroke and transient ischaemic attack

• Contribute to the development of our stroke services, including the implementation of new treatments and protocols

• Provide education and training to junior staff, including undergraduate and postgraduate students

• Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Physician with the following skills and experience:

• Current valid GMC registration

• MRCP or equivalent

• Advanced Life Support certificate

• Higher research qualification

• Certificate of completion of specialist training (CCT) or equivalent in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric medicine, Neurology, or Stroke medicine (or entry expected within six months of interview date)

• Clinical experience in stroke medicine, including acute, TIA, rehabilitation, and prevention

• Expertise in stroke thrombolysis

• Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients

• Evidence of understanding of the role of clinical management
