About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Support Specialist to join our team as a Railway Systems Project Coordinator. This role will provide professional and technical support on project engineering duties within a Railway Systems Project delivery team.

The ideal candidate will have relevant domain knowledge in Depots including design, installation, and Testing & Commissioning. They will be responsible for coordinating the acceptance of the design, construction, and commissioning of assets comply with the technical and sponsor requirements and applicable standards, specifications, and procedures.

As a key member of the team, you will undertake duties in supporting the Lead Project Engineer – Washwood Heath Depot as directed in the coordination, interface management, and assurance. You will also provide guidance on design solutions for the asset, promoting the use of best practice and innovative engineering techniques, technologies, and processes.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to use Digital Engineering tools, procedures, and systems for the development designs and during construction, testing, and commissioning.

We offer a competitive salary of £59,300 per annum, depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top of the base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the acceptance of the design, construction, and commissioning of assets comply with the technical and sponsor requirements and applicable standards, specifications, and procedures.
  2. Undertake duties in supporting the Lead Project Engineer – Washwood Heath Depot as directed in the coordination, interface management, and assurance.
  3. Provide guidance on design solutions for the asset, promoting the use of best practice and innovative engineering techniques, technologies, and processes.
  4. Support the management and effective communication of engineering issues or change affecting railway systems.
  5. Oversee the identification, communicating, and managing technical risks and assumptions.
  6. Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organizational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.
