Senior Leader Position

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Leader to join our Research Centre for Climate, based in Cambridge. The successful candidate will provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to the Centre team, while managing relationships internally and externally.

The Centre plays a critical role in bridging the gap between academia and industry, contributing to a more sustainable future through leading academic research and thought leadership. Our mission is to drive climate action by working with business and government leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute implementation plans to achieve the Centre's strategic objectives.
  • Lead and mentor the Centre's team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Spearhead fundraising efforts, manage donor relationships, and secure sustainable funding.
  • Oversee financial planning and management, ensuring robust financial practices.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with key University entities and external stakeholders.
  • Drive engagement with the Hughes Hall community and serve as a liaison.
  • Coordinate the activities of the Centre's Oversight Committee and Advisory Group.
  • Lead and participate in high-profile events and networking opportunities.

About You:

  • Demonstrate a passion for climate change science and policy.
  • Hold substantial executive-level experience.
  • Have proven ability to influence senior individuals.
  • Bring fundraising experience.
  • Have experience in climate change law, policy, or sustainability.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
  • Show excellent communication skills.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking and change management skills.

Package Includes:

  • A competitive salary range of £68,863 - £79,800 FTE (£55,090.40 – 63,840 actual).
