Salary
The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of £29,767.40 - £30,979.40, which includes a sleep-in rate of £55.00 per night (average 1.4 nights per week). In addition, a welcome bonus of up to £1,500 is offered upon joining the team.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Services Manager to join our team in Weymouth, Dorchester, or Ferndown. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our projects, ensuring high-quality support is provided to our residents. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the day-to-day running of projects and ensuring consistency in service delivery
- Providing person-centered support to promote independence and emotional well-being among our residents
- Leading the team in preparing and maintaining individual support plans, recording safeguarding monitoring and actions, risk assessments, and coordinating the provision of individualized support
- Fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including health and social care professionals, children's services, and education providers
- Ensuring the safety and security of our buildings and facilities, including conducting regular fire checks and welfare checks
- Maintaining accurate records of support provision and risks, as well as monitoring service systems according to policy and procedure
- Playing a key role in promoting team camaraderie and morale, encouraging healthy engagement with residents, and supporting the move-on of residents across services
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A strong background in residential childcare, with experience in dealing with challenging situations and maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with children, families, colleagues, and external organizations
- A driving license and willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional sleep-ins
- A commitment to ongoing training and professional development, with a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) preferred
