Aerospace Procurement Leadership Opportunity
Based in Wolverhampton, we are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Strategist to join our Operational Supply Chain team. Our client is a renowned manufacturer of complex mechanical products in the Aerospace industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing order placement, maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and supply chain stakeholders, and providing purchase order management to ensure timely delivery information.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate between Operational Supply Chain and Operations teams for alignment on procurement requirements.
- Influence key internal stakeholders to drive supply chain objectives.
- Oversight and escalation point for Operational Buyers and admin support.
- Represent the Supply Chain team in site meetings, including SIOP and SQDCL.
- Deputise for the Supply Chain Manager in their absence.
- Develop and manage effective supplier relationships to achieve business goals.
- Evaluation of supplier performance, risk identification, and mitigation.
- Effective purchase order management and placement using standard systems and processes.
- Ensure timely closure of root causes and corrective actions.
- Lead problem-solving activities to resolve supplier relationship and supply chain performance issues.
About the Role:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business (preferred).
- More than 5 years of experience in Manufacturing or Supply Chain (preferably Aerospace).
- Desired qualifications include CIPS certification.
- Highly experienced in planning and order placement to meet operational requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven working knowledge of MRP systems like SAP.
- Knowledge of ITAR/EAR compliance is advantageous.
