As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-profile and complex UK and global accounts, ensuring smooth underwriting operations and strategic growth and development of the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain clear underwriting procedures and processes, ensuring adherence to company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives within the underwriting function, including finance, claims, and operations.
- Facilitate and participate in underwriting and technical committees, ensuring clear communication and productive discussions.
- Conduct regular reviews of new and existing underwriting guidelines, assessing potential portfolio impact and recommending updates.
- Assist in underwriting file reviews to ensure adherence to established principles and procedures.
- Analyze underwriting data to identify potential risk areas and recommend mitigating strategies.
- Prepare reports and presentations on underwriting performance and risk management activities.
- Lead and develop a team of underwriters, imparting knowledge and expertise to support their development.
- Act as the escalation point for global and strategic partners, building relationships and promoting AXA XL's capabilities and services.
- Extensive technical underwriting experience and broker management in Casualty.
- Significant people management experience and effective team leadership skills.
- Experience in portfolio management and data analytics.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in public speaking and presentation.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, producers, and brokers.
