We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our Store Development Team in Peterborough. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing, planning, and overseeing construction projects in the East of England, ensuring the highest standards and deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the construction of new stores, extensions, and modernizations of our existing store portfolio
- Manage assigned project plans and deadlines
- Monitor project progress and ensure quality standards are met at all times
- Manage relationships with external companies, contractors, and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with our corporate specification and internal procedures
- Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety performance on all construction sites
- Remedy any issues quickly and effectively to keep projects moving and ensure deadlines are not jeopardized
- Report on the progress of construction projects to the Senior team
- Budget management and controlling project costs
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in either Engineering or Construction
- Proven experience in a Construction/Engineering related role
- PC literate with strong Microsoft Office skills
- A professional and refined negotiator with sound commercial acumen and judgment
- Highly organized with a pragmatic and analytical approach
- A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize conflicting deadlines
- An excellent communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business
- A team player who can perform tasks independently using their own initiative
- RICS, CIOB, or MAPM accreditation is desirable or working towards qualifications
- Experience in another retailer is desirable
- Driving License is essential for this role
