Police Staff Investigator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Police Staff Investigator to join our team at Merseyside Police. This role will involve undertaking the investigation of serious and complex crime, supporting Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Investigations to increase public satisfaction and reduce the fear of crime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recovering and reviewing CCTV footage
  • Applying for and interpreting communications data
  • Reviewing and interpreting mobile phone content
  • Assisting investigators as directed by the Sergeant

Requirements:

  • Confidence and communication skills to engage members of the public
  • Ability to play back CCTV footage in situ during time-critical investigations
  • Independence to download CCTV footage from various systems
  • Commitment and flexibility to work beyond core hours in response to serious spontaneous firearms incidents
