Job Title: Police Staff Investigator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Police Staff Investigator to join our team at Merseyside Police. As a Police Staff Investigator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the investigation of serious and complex crime, working closely with detectives and other investigators to gather and analyze evidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recover and review CCTV footage to aid in the investigation of serious and complex crime
  • Apply for and interpret communications data to support the investigation
  • Review and interpret mobile phone content to aid in the investigation
  • Assist investigators as directed by the Sergeant

Requirements:

  • Confidence and communication skills to engage members of the public to locate and recover private CCTV footage
  • Ability to play back CCTV footage to view in situ during time-critical investigations
  • Ability to independently download CCTV footage from various systems without specialist assistance
  • Commitment and flexibility to work beyond core hours in response to serious spontaneous firearms incidents
