Risk & Assurance Analyst Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Risk & Assurance Analyst to join our team at UK Power Networks (Operations) Ltd. As a Risk & Assurance Analyst, you will play a critical role in identifying, mitigating, and monitoring risks across our organization, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Risk Management:** Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization, ensuring that risks are properly documented and monitored.
  • **Data Analysis:** Provide expertise in data analysis techniques, using tools such as PowerBI, IDEA, SQL, and Excel to find insights from complex data sets.
  • **Reporting:** Support the accurate preparation of quarterly reports on Risk and Assurance activities for the Board.
  • **System Ownership:** Take full ownership of the Risk and Assurance workflow system, Synergi, including its ongoing development to better meet the needs of the team and the broader business.
  • **Continuous Improvement:** Promote the continuous improvement of the audit actions closing process, ensuring that actions mitigate identified risks and are measurable.
  • **Risk Assessment:** Help conduct risk assessments to evaluate the significance of identified risks and their potential impact on the business.
  • **Projects:** Participate in specific audits, compliance reviews, and integrity cases to broaden your experience and contribute to important risk management activities.

Requirements:

  • **Analytical Skills:** Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and draw insights from complex data sets.
  • **Data Analysis Tools:** Proficiency in data analysis tools such as PowerBI, IDEA, Tableau, and Excel.
  • **Integrity and Ethics:** High level of integrity and ethical standards, with a commitment to embodying the UK Power Networks values of Respect, Integrity, Diversity & Inclusion, Unity, Continuous Improvement, and Responsibility.
  • **Experience:** Previous experience in risk or assurance roles, with an understanding of risk management principles and best practices.
  • **Regulatory Knowledge:** Familiarity with the UK regulatory landscape for energy and utilities, including understanding compliance requirements and industry standards.
