Job Title: Claims Adjuster - Liability Claims Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team at Claims Recruitment Services. As a Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling complex liability claims, including healthcare regulatory and medical malpractice cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of liability claims, including healthcare regulatory and medical malpractice cases.
- Identifying opportunities for contribution or subrogated recovery claims and pursuing those where appropriate.
- Conducting peer audits and reviews of casualty claims files, providing constructive feedback and identifying learning points for the casualty claims team.
- Developing and managing relationships with key internal stakeholders, particularly underwriters and schemes account managers.
- Taking referrals from delegated authority solicitors on policy coverage and strategy issues, and identifying any trends or areas for continuous improvement or learning.
- Identifying trends and risk areas that are relevant to the company and its customers, and ensuring these are reported to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Assisting less experienced members of the casualty team with queries and referrals on technical issues, such as policy coverage, litigation strategy, and use of experts / external advisors.
- Working with internal stakeholders to provide appropriate claims examples and experience to support new business tenders, policy wording reviews and marketing initiatives.
Requirements:
- Ideal experience of handling healthcare regulatory claims and one other class of business from the following: medical malpractice, bodily injury, and third-party property damage claims.
- Strong experience and understanding of pre-action protocols, litigation process, and ADR.
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to manage indemnity and fee spend, and understand the impact of claims decisions on the wider UK business.
- Excellent customer service focus and delivery.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
