Job Description

At McLaren, we're committed to delivering high-performance in sport. We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Ledger Clerk. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our purchase ledger operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and match invoices and credit notes, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth communication.
  • Deal with supplier queries and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Run fortnightly BACS payment runs and ensure bank details are up to date.
  • Set up new suppliers on our system and verify bank details in accordance with anti-fraud processes.
  • Assist with month-end tasks, including invoice accrual, VAT accrual, and DPO.
  • Prepare and post the monthly deferment statement.
  • Submit payment practices and performance reports bi-annually.
  • Prepare and post fuel invoices, ferries, shipping, and sixth invoices.
  • Liaise with the buying team to resolve queries on prices or quantities.
  • Support the month-end process and deliver high-quality output.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset and strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team player, supportive of others within the team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
