Job Summary:

Our organization, The Myton Hospices, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the assessment, planning, and evaluation of individualized patient-centered care with a holistic approach that is sensitive and responsive to the ever-changing needs of patients, families, and carers.
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that care and support reflect individual needs.
  • Proactively work in partnership with other providers externally to ensure that all information pertaining to the patient's condition and care needs are communicated effectively.
  • Demonstrate skills in conflict resolution and competent negotiation skills when dealing with difficult or challenging situations.
  • Act as a positive role model to others and ensure that practice of specialist palliative care is evidence-based.

Requirements:

  • Significant post-registration experience in palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Experience of needs assessment/care planning, multidisciplinary team working, and caring for patients and families with life-limiting/life-threatening conditions.
  • Good knowledge of assessment and symptom management.
  • Registered Nurse qualified to degree or diploma level, with ENB 998 or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification, and evidence of continual professional development and education.
