Job Title: 18-25 Mental Health Link Violence Reduction Officer

Location: Lewisham

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Violence Reduction Team as a 18-25 Mental Health Link Violence Reduction Officer. The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing crime and improving community safety in Lewisham by working with individuals with mental health issues who are at risk of violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage a caseload of clients with identified mental health issues, providing support and guidance to access appropriate services.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to reduce reoffending, utilizing current best practice and trauma recovery models.
  • Facilitate service user access and engagement with mental health services to support prevention and recovery.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams to manage risk and identify lead professionals for each service user.
  • Provide advocacy and support to facilitate personal and social development of service users.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of client progress and prepare reports as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with mental health issues and a background in violence reduction or a related field.
  • Strong assessment and case management skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multi-agency teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
