">We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team working on improving operational quality and supplier development activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking supplier Quality Management System audits for approval purposes, building close relationships across the supply chain, and working closely with the Quality, Purchasing and Engineering teams.
This role involves supporting value engineering and manufacturing process assessment and development activities, as well as managing supplier quality issues in conjunction with key stakeholders.
Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Undertake supplier Quality Management System audits for approval purposes and work with suppliers to close out any audit findings.
- Build close relationships across the supply chain including establishing forums with strategic suppliers to support supplier development activities.
- Work closely with the Quality, Purchasing and Engineering teams to support the Supply Chain in meeting Wärtsilä project, product and documentation requirements.
- Support value engineering and manufacturing process assessment and development activities.
- Support Advance Product Quality Planning and Design for Manufacture and Assembly activities with suppliers.
- Manage supplier quality issues in conjunction with key stakeholders.
- Manage the supplier performance review processes including escalation, recovery planning and management reporting.
Requirements:
">- Background and relevant experience in Supplier Quality Assurance and/or Quality Engineering.
- Experience of driving root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions.
- Good technical engineering knowledge, including ability to understand engineering drawings and standards.
- The ability to communicate clearly and confidently in spoken English, and the ability to read and write complex technical documents in written English.
