Job Title: Associate Paediatrics Diabetes Nurse SpecialistAbout the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 nurse to join our paediatric diabetes team at Birmingham Children's Hospital. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to children and young people with diabetes, working closely with families and other healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Support and develop the care of children, young people, and their families affected by Type 1, Type 2, and Rare Diabetes.
  2. Develop your knowledge and understanding of the complex nature and medical requirements in managing these conditions to facilitate the delivery of support within the nursing team.
  3. Work as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary diabetes team, caring for children with diabetes needs.
  4. Provide specialist nursing skills, knowledge, expertise, and support to these children and their families.
  5. Act as a resource and support for primary healthcare teams, shared-care centres, and multi-disciplinary teams at BCH.
  6. Ensure all children receiving any form of investigation or treatment regarding their diabetes receive appropriate care of the highest standard both in hospital and community settings.
