About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our Rapid Response Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in mental health crisis, working closely with mental health professionals to provide person-centered interventions and assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist mental health professionals in carrying out duties and functions of the team
  • Provide basic first aid if required and support carers as needed
  • Drive the mental health vehicle to locations required, ensuring timely and efficient responses
  • Communicate effectively with police and paramedics, accurately recording messages and conversations
  • Support carers and loved ones at scene, enabling mental health professionals to focus on assessments and interventions
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, care note requirements, and clinical entries
  • Contribute to improving access to supportive services for individuals in mental health crisis
Requirements
  • Experience working in mental health services or a care setting, with a willingness to enhance skills
  • Knowledge of factors impacting safety and service user experience
  • Knowledge of factors impacting safety for emergency service colleagues
  • Full driving license and ability to drive across the Trust site in the mental health vehicle provided
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deal with conflicting demands and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to each person's needs, communicating in a sensitive and reassuring manner
  • Demonstrate support for Trust values, working in a recovery-oriented way, promoting social inclusion and challenging stigma
