Senior Patient Safety Lead

About the Role
NHS England is seeking an exceptional individual to lead the National Patient Safety Team, responsible for designing, overseeing, and delivering national programmes as outlined in the NHS strategy for patient safety.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in patient safety improvement and outcomes, with a strong understanding of quality improvement science, patient safety in healthcare systems, and programme management expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of Safety Improvement Programmes, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure programme/project management aligns with programme plans.
- Providing coaching, advice, and guidance on quality improvement methodologies and approaches, including measurement for improvement, to Patient Safety Collaboratives.
- Ensuring accurate, appropriate, and timely reporting and demonstrating the impact and value of the programme through the assurance process.
The role requires frequent travel across England with the need for overnight stays, some of which may be consecutive.
