Improving Regulation and Patient Care

We are seeking a registered nurse, midwife, or nursing associate to join our Council as a non-executive member. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our regulatory approach and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Our Council is at a critical juncture, and we are committed to addressing the concerns identified in the recent independent review of our culture. We are investing in fitness to practise, shifting our culture to become a learning organisation, and focusing on person-centred care.

We are looking for a professional with senior level experience in leading or managing culture change and/or organisational development. Your skills in areas such as policy and practice in safeguarding and protecting people, senior leadership in higher education, or senior leadership in community based nursing services or social care would be highly valued.

As a Council member, you will be part of a team united in its commitment to improve how we protect the public. Our values – to be fair, kind, collaborative, and ambitious – must underpin everything we do.

We strongly encourage applicants from Black and minority ethnic communities, as we want our registrant Council membership to reflect the professions we regulate and the people they care for.

We welcome applications from across all four nations: England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. You will need to be able to devote at least 3 days a month to the Council, and in return, you will receive an annual allowance and reasonable expenses.
