About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Citizenship Teacher to join our team as a Subject Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Citizenship department, developing and implementing curriculum plans, and delivering high-quality lessons to students.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Citizenship department, developing and implementing curriculum plans to meet the needs of students
• Deliver high-quality lessons to students, promoting engagement and academic achievement
• Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, students, and parents to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment
• Analyze data to inform teaching and learning, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental policies and procedures
• Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in Citizenship education

Requirements

• A strong track record of improving pupil performance in Citizenship
• A commitment to equality of opportunity and inclusive education
• The ability to use and manipulate data to raise student achievement
• Sound mathematical ability and familiarity with data management systems such as Excel
• Evidence of supporting and challenging students who underperform
• Awareness of national initiatives in education
• The ability to raise standards and an understanding of how to develop learning and teaching across the department
• Ability to develop systems to support pupils both academically, socially and pastorally
• The ability to manage and inspire a variety of students
• Flexibility and an ability to work under pressure
